Kyoto, Japan | Nicest Surprise
I am obsessed with Japan, I had no idea that Kyoto was going to look like how it did when I got there, (will keep Tokyo as a separate post, and focus a bit on Kyoto here). Kyoto is incredibly beautiful, it is filled with lush nature, the huge Arashiyama Bamboo forest, festivals, activities and everything in between (made in obviously the cutest way possible). Everyone is proudly wearing their kimonos, with their clear umbrellas, checking into a ryokan for a weekend retreat. (we the tourists did the Ryokan too! So fun). We were able to explore all of that plus the city itself, we then visited the Fushimi Inari-Taisha temple, this temple is huge (5 gates, and goes up to 4 km huge) we did about half before getting really tired, and moved on to the street food, and green tea ice cream. We had time to also check out the Nijo gold castle! In an all we spent about 3 days in Kyoto. 3 days I have to say very well spent, 3 days I can’t believe I almost skipped Kyoto to focus on Tokyo only. If you do get a chance to go to Japan, my only advice is to not skip Kyoto.
